KARACHI: In an effort to contain the spread of conjunctivitis, the Border Health Services Pakistan issued a warning on Saturday at Jinnah International Airport and other airports across the country.
Director of Health, Dr. Syed Ghulam Murtaza Shah, advised airlines to guide passengers with cataracts to consult border health doctors at the airports.
Dr. Shah emphasized that passengers with severe cases of conjunctivitis should refrain from traveling independently, as conjunctivitis is a contagious disease that can be transmitted from one person to another.
On the other hand, the Civil Aviation Authority spokesperson stated that there were no travel restrictions in place for passengers affected by conjunctivitis.
