Pakistan’s prominent fast bowler, Naseem Shah, is facing the likelihood of being excluded from the upcoming ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023. Recent scans have revealed that his injury is more severe than initially assessed by the team’s management.
Naseem Shah, the right-arm fast bowler, sustained a right shoulder injury during the Asia Cup 2023 match against India in Colombo earlier this week. Subsequently, another right-arm fast bowler, Zaman Khan, was drafted into Pakistan’s 17-member squad as his replacement.
Insiders have indicated that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is contemplating seeking a second opinion from medical specialists regarding Naseem Shah’s recovery prospects.
The results of scans conducted in Dubai have raised concerns that this injury could sideline him from the game for the remainder of the year, dealing a significant blow to the Pakistani cricket team. There are also apprehensions that he might miss the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
